Absolutely! Check out this page for detailed instructions how to make cold process soap using the Pifito Oils Mix.
To calculate how much water and lye you need to add, input to a Soap Lye Calculator the percentages of each oil that’s included in that particular Oils Mix ingredients. Indicate in the calculator what the total desired weight of oils you’d like to use in your soap recipe (if you’re using the complete package, simply put the full package weight, i.e. 60 oz). Click to calculate the amount of water and lye you need to add. Then add to your recipe the total indicated desired weight of oils from the Oils Mix. Make sure to shake the pouch well before pouring in part of the oil mixture. Then follow the normal soap making process, by adding the lye and water solution according to calculation, fragrance or essential oil, colorants and other preferred additives.
If you wish to make soap using only some of the oils from your Oils Mix (not the complete mix). Input to a Soap Lye Calculator the percentages of each oil that’s included in that particular Oils Mix ingredients. Indicate in the calculator the total weight of oils you would like to use. Click to calculate the amount of water and lye to add. Then add to your recipe the total indicated desired weight of oils from the Oils Mix. Always make sure to shake the pouch well before pouring in the contents from the Oils Mix, so that the oils are evenly mixed. That being said, the Oils Mix usually stays fluid at room temperature. If the oils are in a solid form or not perfectly fluid, simply place the Oils Mix pouch with the cap on in a microwave for 30 second bursts (the pouch is microwave safe) until fully melted. Alternatively, place the pouch in a double boiler to melt the solid oils to a liquid (make sure the pouch does not touch the bottom of the pot that is directly over the flame). You can also try putting the pouch inside a hot water bath.

Absolutely! Run this through a Soap Lye Calculator. Start by putting into the Soap Lye Calculator the percentages of each oil that’s included in that particular Oils Mix ingredients. The calculator will calculate the exact weight of each oil. Then change the input method to input the weight of each additional oil (not percentage). Add to the calculator the additional oils or butters you wish and indicate the desired weight of each additional oil or butter. The calculator should automatically recalculate the updated percentage of each oil and butter that’s in your recipe (so you can review for your reference). Please note, you can only run this process of adding oils and butters to the calculation accurately, while you’re using the complete Oils Mix. So if for example, you’re using the 60 oz Oils Mix and wish to add 10 oz of an additional oil, the total weight of all your oils will be 70 oz. You would then pour the complete mix (60 oz) plus the 10 oz additional oil to your soap recipe.
Our Soap Making Oils Mix does not include any fragrance or colors. It’s not required, but it’s totally up to you and depends on your preference. You can simply add the fragrance and colors to this Oils Mix as you would do during the normal soap making process. There are lots of great recipes found online.
Our Oils Mix includes the oils/butters portion of the soap making recipe. You will still need to add the lye and water solution, plus fragrance, colorants and other preferred additives.
